Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actor. She made her screen debut with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best actress. She speaks French, German, English and Romanian well. Her mother was a violinist The father of her is a theater professor in one of the best Romanian theatre schools. The Romanian Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 week si 2 zile (4 Three Weeks 4 Months 2 days) directed by Cristian Mungiu, which won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). She also appeared in the film by Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. She appeared as Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca played the role of Oliver Hirschbiegel in Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. The actress later played a significant character in the 2014 movie Fury which featured her as the role of a German woman, named Irma Aunt of Emma.
